Patio Pillows

Make these outdoor patio pillows out of old pillows and a used or new vinyl tablecloth. Great re-purpose for those ratty pillows you might otherwise throw out!

All you need is old pillows.......

.......and a used or new vinyl tablecloth

If square, measure straight across middle of pillow. Whatever measure is add 1 inch extra when cutting. (For a rectangle, measure across and lengthwise)

My pillow measured 15 inches across, so I cut 2-16 inch squares.

Place squares right sides together, and pin 3 sides,
leaving one end open.

Sew a 1/2 inch seam all the way around the 3 sides.

Clip off corners, and turn right sides out. Don't forget to pop out those points!

Slide that old pillow into it's new home!

Fold in ends and pin together.

Hand stitch opening closed. That's all there is to it!

Fast! Easy! Perfect for outside!

Elmo Loves Red Storybook Quilt

Here is another Storybook Quilt "Elmo Loves Red"! If you followed Winnie the Pooh Storybook Quilt same basic technique of ripping the book apart and putting it back together in quilt form.

Instead of alternate blocks I used wavy striped borders.
There is a little bit of a challenge doing these because there is "bumps," flaps things that need to be cut off. Every book is different and that makes this a fun project to do!

I really love the bright colors and added some fun extras, like the sunflower, store-bought Abby Cadabby, and I cut and stuffed the Elmo Loves Red Logo.

The cute frog moves back and forth to Oscars Head! As you can see from Elmo's picture it doesn't make him very happy!

For the back of the quilt I used Crayon fabric.

I salvaged another piece of the book and sewed it on the back for the label.

Any questions you can contact me at seastar42@msn.com and please feel free to leave comments. Always great to hear from you!
